For me, life is about being in a relationship with my Creator and Saviour Jesus Christ. He created us out of nothing to give us life and everything we need, but as demonstrated by Adam and Eve, we think we know better than God and try to do things our own way. The state of the world now is the direct result of us not letting our loving Creator be the director of our lives.
I believe in Jesus, because I know Him personally as the one who came to earth to pay the penalty that was rightfully mine. God is a just God. Everyday, we cry out for justice over the state of the world. God can't stand injustice, that's why Jesus had to die. Someone had to die for the crimes we committed against God after the Garden of Eden. Jesus, God's own Son, who is in essence God Himself, was willing to stand in our place, though He never rebelled against God. So Jesus died on a cross, for crimes He never committed – for your crimes and for mine. So justice has been served and a second chance was opened for those who believe.
Jesus didn't stay dead. The fact that He didn't deserve to die gave Him the right to walk right out of the gates of hell with the keys to death with authority over every power in the spiritual realms under God. Many witnessed the fact of Jesus' resurrection at the time, but the fact that He is still alive today makes anyone who knows Him a witness to His eternal life. Jesus gives each of us an opportunity to put our trust in Him as our Saviour from the punishment we deserved. Once we acknowledge Jesus as Lord over our lives, He offers us the same gift of eternal life and freedom from eternal punishment and death. Wow!
Being in a relationship with Jesus means you are never alone ever again. Everyday, He teaches you a better way to live in the freedom of His love. Suddenly, those things we used to think were so important in our lives become insignificant as our perspective on the world changes.
This is why I do what I do. God gives me these songs to remind me how to view the world from His perspective. As I listen to Him, He helps me to live a more abundant life according to His love. It gives me great joy to see others also benefiting from what God reveals to me.
If you are interested in knowing Jesus personally, then you are about to make a very special decision. Beginning your relationship with Jesus is easy. He already knows you by name. It's like He's been waiting for you to respond to Him your whole life. Now, all that is left is for you to acknowledge Him. You may feel strange when you first talk to Him, but you'll soon get used to it. In time, you won't know what it's like to not know Him. He's always with you.
It may be handy for you to get your hands on a Bible to help you as you get to know each other. The Bible is God's written word. As you read His word He will speak to you on a daily basis. Something God has made very clear since creation is that He doesn't like us to be alone. So connecting yourself with other people who know Jesus is very important in helping you in your new life.
