Exciting Changes

PrintE-mail

Hey friends! I know it's been a while since my last blog, but you'll understand why when you read this one :) The last couple of months have been a transitional time for me. There was a hint of it in my "New Directions" blog at the start of September, but since then things have changed even more than I anticipated!

I am moving house. Some of you might think, "so what?" Well, for me this is a huge deal, as I've lived in my current house since I was 4 years old! I've never lived in my own place since becoming an adult, so this is a whole new experience for me. For those of you who don't know my backstory - my whole family, including my parents, all moved out about 9 years ago, leaving me to look after the family home. So, I've been maintaining a big old house with no one in it. I had housemates move in and out over the years, but the last 3 years have mainly been just my hubby and I. I tell you what, a big house with just 2 people in it is not really a cosy vibe. It can feel quite isolating and depressing, especially when it used to be full of people and noise (at least to me - an extrovert!)

Anyway, to cut a long story short, I told my parents I wanted to get my own place and in the space of a month, we got one! It was all very dramatic, but I thank God for making it a quick find. We got a very good deal on our place despite the craziness of the current market, which is a miracle in itself. So again, I thank God!

Last Sunday, I helped out a bit at Miss Libertine's Sunday Sessions (run by Full Valve Entertainment) and it was great to hang out with my fellow musos. I even got to play an impromptu set when one of the bands didn't show. It was really fun and I'm looking forward to being more involved in the local music scene once I move.

Meanwhile, FVE are organising an official album launch for me on December 10. It would be awesome to see as many of you there as can make it. For more details, see my gigs page. Looking forward to hanging out then :)
